There is going to be a new album by one of the best instrumental synth rock bands.
For thousands of years the moon has made her impression upon man and planet Earth. Now, man from planet Earth has made his impression on the moon.
An eclectic masterpiece of jazz, gospel, psychedelic space tunes, hip-hop beats, and civil rights activism. What started out as a solo sound collage project by Damon Locks turned into a full blown 15-piece ensemble. Where Future Unfolds is a diverse and powerful live album which I highly recommend.
Electronic minimalism at its finest. The video uses footage from the Apollo 11 mission. I really love this.
An anonymous artist known only as Moontribe. A deep-space journey between tribal percussion, hypnotizing organs and long echo ripples, all joining in for a snake-charming voodoo ritual of which Moontribe is the Shaman. Expect African drums, hints of cumbia, and distant galaxy exploration in unmeasured doses.
Unbelievable that it’s been already 7 years. I was fascinated by this video when it came out – and I still am. The music is by the NOW Ensemble from New York. Enjoy this 13 minute trip to space accompanied by their wonderful neo-/indie-classical chamber music.
Afro futuristic imagery by Vodun. I follow this London based band since their Invasion days. They sound amazingly complex for a 3-piece. Great riffs and drumming and outstanding vocals. This is just a highly original kick ass rock band. A new album is coming in September. Until then check out their previous releases.
