Title song for The Ambushers, one of four spy movie parodies with Dean Martin.
Netflix made a drama series about a jazz club. I have yet to watch the series, but given the music videos and the trailer, I’m already sold.
Here is a fun interlude. The Thunderbirds theme played by the Royal Marines Band.
Give a listen to this fantastic cinematic post-rock band from Greece.
This song was the title track for the 1967 British action film Deadlier Than the Male. Watch Elke Sommer and Sylva Koscina killing off some men in this nicely done video montage by davidfromlille.
If you need more proof that Dennis Quaid is a cool dude. And a great singer. This is from the Amazon series Goliath season 3 which I would recommend.
Julie London is one of my favorite classic jazz singers. Here is her famous song Cry me a River from the movie The Girl can’t help it (1956) featuring Tom Ewell and Jayne Mansfield.
I really love davidfromlille’s youtube channel. David is creating these wonderful music clips from trash, cult, and artouse films. There are some exceptions, but he mainly focuses on European films from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. This not only satisfies my interest in these films, but also my love for their soundtracks.
This is Ena Proino composed by Stavros Xarhakos and performed by Maria Dimitriadi. The song was featured in the Greek film Girls in the Sun (1968) and has become a classic. The film is about a Greek shepherd falling in love with a British girl. It was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film.
Here is a strange piece of German television from 2003. Soundtrack wizard Peter Thomas, who is credited with more than 170 movies and tv shows, performs live on television together with the orchestra of the BGS (the Federal Border Guard) and the Schöneberger Boys’ Choir. Quite the bizarre line-up. They interpret music from the tv show Raumpatrouille – The Phantastic Adventures of the Spaceship Orion. Skip to 3:15 for the performance.
