Charles Bradley – Changes (live)
Outstanding rendition of Black Sabbath’s classic song Changes by Charles Bradley.
Damon Locks Black Monument Ensemble – Where Future Unfolds
An eclectic masterpiece of jazz, gospel, psychedelic space tunes, hip-hop beats, and civil rights activism. What started out as a solo sound collage project by Damon Locks turned into a full blown 15-piece ensemble. Where Future Unfolds is a diverse and powerful live album which I highly recommend.
Peter Thomas – Raumpatrouille (live)
Here is a strange piece of German television from 2003. Soundtrack wizard Peter Thomas, who is credited with more than 170 movies and tv shows, performs live on television together with the orchestra of the BGS (the Federal Border Guard) and the Schöneberger Boys’ Choir. Quite the bizarre line-up. They interpret music from the tv show Raumpatrouille – The Phantastic Adventures of the Spaceship Orion. Skip to 3:15 for the performance.
Hidden Orchestra – Live at Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts, Brighton
Everest Queen – Blood That Binds The Iliad (Live)
Some sludge metal to get you through the night. This is a great sounding in-your-face live video. Check out the band’s full album for a diverse and well rounded experience.
Elektro Guzzi – Miney Mick
Minimal techno played by a live trio using guitar, bass, and drums. This is Elektro Guzzi from Austria. You don’t believe it? Check out their live videos. Amazing concept, great sound. The new album Polybrass is going to be released on October 26th.
Moses Sumney – Rank & File
Powerful.
Notilus – Alien / Tangerine
Notilus is the new project of five established French musicians
combining cinematic soundscapes, energetic jazz and atmospheric live
electronics.
Highly original music consisting of drums, saxophone, trombone, trumpet, and electronic shenanigans. Cool live videos, too. Bandcamp.
