Hilarious video for Keine Party (No Party) by the popular hip hop and electro band Deichkind. The concept is obviously inspired by Kap Bambino and Techno Girl. Nevertheless, I like this stuff. The sophisticated dancer is non other than famous actor Lars Eidinger.
First song from the upcoming full-length debut album by Konvent from Denmark. If the rest of the album can hold up to this song, then we are in for pure death doom bliss. I also really like the album art.
Meanwhile, we can listen to their demo from 2017.
This song was the title track for the 1967 British action film Deadlier Than the Male. Watch Elke Sommer and Sylva Koscina killing off some men in this nicely done video montage by davidfromlille.
A new song by Mamiffer from the upcoming album. Mamiffer is one the gazillion bands Aaron Turner is involved in, but the band is actually the brainchild of his wife, Faith Coloccia. Mamiffer plays ambient post-rock.
Mark your calendars: On January 10th, 2019 a new Bohren album will see the light of day or yet better: will see the dark of night. Bohren is one of those bands best listened to after dark. It’s also one of those bands that had a big impact on me. The blog name Midnight Ritual Radio is no coinicidence (hint: Midnight Radio).
If you need more proof that Dennis Quaid is a cool dude. And a great singer. This is from the Amazon series Goliath season 3 which I would recommend.
Samba-esque funky pop from Brazil. I don’t pretend to know what’s going on here, but I like what I see and hear. Apparently, some of the scenes depict an authentic Umbanda ritual. I enjoyed it so much that I listened to the whole album (Youtube, Spotify).
I quote a translated snippet from Rolling Stone Brazil:
“Rito de Passá”, by the voice of MC Tha, is a powerful act of celebrating the constant movement, the constant transformation. It seeks the understanding of the now, too, be it painful or euphoric. Nothing is static, everything changes.
